Everyone loves that new car smell, but how can you keep it going long after you’ve obtained the keys for your Maserati? Use these tips to keep that smell around for years to come.

Use Leather Conditioner

A lot of the new-car smell comes from the smell of new, clean leather. Thankfully, this is relatively easy to maintain throughout your car’s life by regularly conditioning the leather with leather conditioner. Every few months or so, give all of your leather surfaces a dose of a high-quality leather conditioner to keep them in their original glory.

Keep It Clean

In addition to regularly cleaning your leather surfaces, be sure to regularly clean the rest of your car’s interior, too. Wipe down hard surfaces with a disinfectant, vacuum all over – especially in small crevices, and pick up any clutter that has accumulated since your last cleaning session. After all, the cleaner your car is the better it will smell.

Keep Food Out

Though it can be tempting to pick up breakfast on your way into work in the morning, the best way to keep your car clean and smelling clean is to keep food out of your car as much as you can. Not only will you reduce crumbs and clutter, but you’ll also prevent stains and strange smells, too.

Open The Windows

If you do have a slight smell in your car, leave the windows open for a couple of hours on a clear, sunny day. The fresh air and a clean breeze will help to naturally remove any unwanted odors.

Try An Ionizer

Recently, ionizers have become more and more popular in cars to keep them clean and smelling fresh. If your car doesn’t have a built-in ionizer, you can purchase one online.
