Get A Splash Out Of These Pool Games

Nothing beats the heat on a hot day like a splash in the pool, and if your family’s bored of Marco Polo, you can try these other fun pool games!
Sharks and Minnows
Part Tag, Part Red Light/Green Light, this game splits teams into a group of minnows and one shark. The minnows start at one end of the pool with the shark somewhere in the middle. The shark must say “fishy, fishy, come and play,” to invite the minnows to start swimming toward the other end. The shark must stay in place, but at any moment, they can also say “shark attack!” announcing that they will now try to tag the minnows. The minnows are safe once they reach the other side, and any minnows that are tagged will join Team Shark in the next round.
Tic Tac Toe
You’ll need nine floating circles to make a tic tac toe board in the pool, and hula hoops serve as the perfect solution. Once your buoyant board is assembled, participants will take turns tossing beach balls to line up three spaces in a row. It is possible that someone could miss the board altogether, so it would be helpful to plan ahead of time if they get to try again or lose the turn when that happens.
Treasure Divers
Also known as Change Champion, this game starts by dropping some “treasures” to the bottom of the pool. Make sure all your treasure is heavy enough to sink, but not so heavy that it would be tough to bring back to the surface. At the word “go,” the divers will swim down to collect the pieces and bring them back to their own stash by the edge. The challenge is that they may only carry one item in each hand. The winner is the swimmer with the biggest stash when all the treasure has been collected.
