Maserati Celebrates End of V8 with Special Ultima Editions

It’s a bittersweet day for Maserati fans. On one hand, it’s sad to think that explosive exhaust notes and rumble of combustion engines are going away. On the other hand, seeing Maserati lead the way in luxury performance EVs give hope to the future, and excitement for what’s to come. Maserati is not obvious to this and, as you’ve probably deciphered from the title, Maserati is sending off their 3.8-liter V-8 combustion engine with the introduction of two special editions: The 2024 Maserati Ghibli Ultima and the 2024 Maserati Levante Ultima.
2024 Maserati Ghibli Ultima: The Fastest Sedan in the World?
If you’re an automotive enthusiast, chances are you’ve booted up Need for Speed or Grand Theft Auto V and maxed out the specs of a “regular” car to see what performance you can get out of it. The Maserati Ghibli isn’t a “regular” car by any means, but Maserati has done something similar for their 2024 Maserati Ultima editions, squeezing out every last ounce of performance out of the 3.8-liter V8 — 572 horsepower to be exact. That is if the 2024 Maserati Ghibli Ultima uses the same engine the top-of-the-line 2024 Maserati Ghibli Trofeo employs.
Other than engine performance, Maserati has also fitted the 2024 Ghibli Ultima with lightweight materials, such as a carbon fiber rear spoiler, bumper, door handles, pillars, and side mirrors. The Ghibli Ultima will also be fitted with mysterious new tires made with “special” compounds, but only time will tell how special these tires really are.
Equipped with the twin-turbo V8, Carbon Fiber materials, and special tires, the 2024 Maserati Ghibli Ultima will go fo from 0-62 mpg in just 3.9 seconds. Much quicker than the regular Maserati Ghibli’s 4.3-second time.
Aesthetically, the Ghibli Ultima features 334 emblems on the exterior and interior Terracotta leather seats.
2024 Maserati Levante Ultima
The 2024 Maserati Levante Ultima gets the same carbon fiber treatment the Ghibli Ultima enjoys and will feature two colors: Nero Assoluto and Blue Royale. Maserati will be producing only 103 of both the 2024 Maserati Ghibli Ultima and Levante, thus both models will have a “1/103” badge in the interior.
Concluding Thoughts
The 2024 Maserati Ultima editions mark the end of a glorious era; a bittersweet sendoff to the roaring V8s of yesteryear. It’s too early for the 2024 Ultima Editions to be in stock at our Maserati of Tysons, Virginia location, but stay tuned as we’ll announce their availability once they hit our lots.
