The Maserati Ghibli is one of a kind. Car buyers looking for a premium sports sedan will find their expectations being blown away as soon as they sit in the vehicle and drive off. The Ghibli is a feature loaded vehicle, which you may expect for a luxury vehicle. Not only is it loaded with feature, but it also has great performance, power, and style turning heads when it drives by a crowd. If you’re entering the super luxury vehicle market, the Ghibli is the most cost efficient option being the least expensive vehicle in the Maserati lineup.
New Updates for the 2018 Ghibli
The 2018 Ghibli has been refreshed on the interior and the exterior. The interior now has available driver assist features such as Forward Collision Warning Plus, Highway Assist System, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Keeping Assist and more. The exterior has improved the Ghibli’s aerodynamic efficiency. However, to the general public the Ghibli appears to have gotten a revised exterior style with it’s front and rear fascia, new headlight designs, and the grille in the front. All of these features make the 2018 Maserati Ghibli a luxury vehicle that makes competition look small.
History of the Maserati Ghibli
The Maserati Ghibli history dates back to the 1960s and has had three generations of vehicles over the years: Tipo AM115, Tipo AM336, and TipoM157. The first generation, AM 115, was unveiled in 1966 at the Turin Motor Show in Turin, Italy. The AM115 was produced with a 306 horsepower V8 engine, with a max speed of 155mph and a 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds. This vehicle sounds like it can compete with vehicles of today, so imagine how advanced it was for it’s time in the 1960s! The first generation was produced for the model years 1967-1973.
The second generation Ghibli, Tipo AM336, hit the market in 1992, with a V6 engine. Though it was only a V6 engine, it still provided the same power but a little more compared to the previous generation. Throughout the second generation, Maserati continued to improve upon its performance and the interior and exterior styling. Today’s Ghibli is the third generation, which hit the market in 2013. The Ghibli today is a mid-size luxury sedan which continues the Maserati design, features, and distinctive qualities of Maserati.
