First Look – Maserati SUV

With its vertical chrome bars, the aggressively sculpted front grille is impressively imposing, given the elevated height and proportions of Maserati’s SUV. At the same time, Levante retains the timeless grace of a Maserati, with the noble Trident of Neptune leading the way forward. At each side, the two-part headlights have a narrow, forward focus that catches the eye. These lead the gaze across the muscular, arching front fenders to the brand’s customary triple air vents and upper character lines. The Saetta logo in the steeply tapered, coupe-like rear section is an unmistakable signature that pays homage to classic Maserati style.

GranLusso and GranSport trim options

The Levante SUV embodies the enduring, intrepid and progressive spirit of Maserati – part of an inspired story that dates back more than 100 years. Throughout its history, Maserati has names many of its cars after the world’s legendary winds. It began in 1963 with the classic Mistral, soon followed by the Ghibli, the Bora, and the Khamsin. Now, the Levante joins the Maserati hall of fame.

The 2018 Levante is offered in two models: Levante and Levante S. Both are available with optional GranLusso and GranSport trims, comprehensively equipped according to your personal wishes The new GranLusso trim emphasizes even greater luxury with stylish interior and exterior appointments. The new GranSport trim, meanwhile, accentuates engaging vehicle dynamics. Each trim option offers new advanced driving assistance features, including an innovative new power steering system, and a choice of two powerful V6 engines build in Maranello. A new journey has begun – with the Maserati of SUVs

GranLusso: luxury is its favorite sport

Beautiful finishes and refined surfaces are everywhere to be found on the GranLusso. Thoughtfully designed details-like protection plates beneath the from bumper featuring a striking metallic finish clearly signal Levante’s four-wheel-drive capability The roof rails have a metallic trim, too. The GranLusso badge is impeccably integrated into the lower surface of each front fender.

GranLusso: an accent on luxury

The GranLusso offers front comfort seats with extensive 12-way power adjustment and a memory function for instant access to preset configurations. There is also the choice of either full premium Italian leather or Ermenegildo Zegna Silk Edition upholstery, both beautifully complemented by Radica Open-pore wood trim. Additionally, the power-adjustable steering wheel is finished in fine wood.

GranSport: heights of dynamic elegance

The front of the Levante is dominated by a large and assertive front grille, finished in highly polished Piano Black or, optionally, in chrome. The protection plates beneath the front bumper and the roof rails are also finished in Piano Black trim. The GranSport badge appears at the base of each front fender, while soft-close doors and a touch of quiet luxury to Maserati’s dynamic, sporting SUV.

GranSport: more sporting style

The front Sport seats hug driver and passenger, offering excellent support as well as 12-way power adjustment and memory function. A firmly bolstered, powered Sport steering wheel with multifunction buttons, brushed chrome gearshift paddles and power aluminum sport foot pedals are sure to appeal to purists.

Highway Assist System (HAS)

HAS combines the virtues of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Keeping Assist to make highway driving even easier. Using information picked up from a digital camera mounted behind the rearview mirror and a radar system in the from grille, HAS automatically keeps the vehicle centered in its lane, at a preselected speed and at a chosen distance from the vehicle ahead. It will even decelerate the Levante as traffic conditions dictate. To ensure safety, HAS requires the driver to keep his or her hand on the steering wheel at all times.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

LKA provides valuable input if the driver is about to unintentionally leave a lane. A digital camera behind the rearview mirror continuously monitors road markings to keep track of the course ahead. The instrument panel display shows the specific status of the vehicle. White lines on either side of the vehicle image indicate that it is safely in lane. One yellow line indicates that the Levante is moving off-center, right or left. One flashing yellow line warns of lane departure. At that point, when the visual & Haptic box is selected in the touchscreen display, LKA actively steps in with corrective steering torque. Activation of the turn indicator overrides the system.

Traffic Sign Recognition

Even the best drivers fail to recognize traffic sign on occasion, and for this reason, Traffic sign Recognition is a particularly useful feature. This system monitors three types of sign: speed limits, temporary speed limits due to conditions such as heavy rain, and no-overtaking zones. It then displays the signs digitally in the cluster display of the instrument panel. The system operates using data acquired from a digital camera mounted behind the rearview mirror and from the navigation system.

Forward Collision Warning Plus

This system, in combination with Adaptive Cruise Control, Monitors vehicles ahead and warns if the approach could result in a rear-end collision. This is linked to the Advanced Brake Assist system, engineered to provide additional braking during an emergency stop. If the warning does not prompt any action from the driver, the Automated Emergency Braking system automatically applies the brakes to reduce vehicle speed.

Active Blind Sport Assist and Rear Cross Path function

With this system, a warning icon appears in the exterior door mirrors when a vehicle enters the driver’s blind sport. Three levels of support can be selected if the driver nonetheless initiates a lane change. Minimally, the system maintains the visual alert in the door mirrors; additionally, alerts are backed up with an acoustic warning. Or for maximum intervention, the system applies steering torque in the opposite direction of the attempted lane change. The intensity of this torque is also adaptable according to preference.

The Rear Cross Path function is a useful feature that emits a warning signal when an unseen vehicle is approaching, from the right or left, while reversing out of a parking space.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function

Adaptive Cruise Control constantly monitors the vehicle ahead, maintaining a preset distance. With the Stop & Go function, the Levante will also adjust to the speed of the vehicle in front until it comes to complete stop, if the stop is less than two seconds.
