Summer Skin Care Tips For The Kiddos
T
The summer sun is brutal, but that doesn’t mean the kids should have to stay inside all season long. To ensure your kids can enjoy outdoor fun, all while protecting their skin, read up on these skincare tips for kiddos.
Sun Protection
Sunscreen created specifically for kids can be used on babies as young as six months of age. When buying sunscreen, make sure it protects from UVA and UVB rays. One that contains zinc oxide or titanium dioxide is sure to protect the skin. Also, definitely avoid sunscreens with paraben, benzophenone, oxybenzone, and octinoxate.
Although your kids should have sunscreen on to protect them, sunglasses and sun hats can help protect their face and eyes more thoroughly. Plus, your kids look fashionable and cute in photos.
This helps protect your kid while the sun is strongest. Between 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M skin is more likely to get damaged. If possible, try to prevent your kids from being outdoors at these times. And if they are, make sure you follow proper sun protection!
Prickly Heat Protection
Being in the hot sun can create a heat rash from sweat. Make sure you are prepared to treat your child with calamine lotion or prickly heat powders. To clean the skin clean, you will need a mild bath soap.
Skin Hydration
It is important to keep your child’s skin hydrated to prevent dry and itchy skin. Organic skincare creams with almond and murumuru butter create a skin barrier and keep it hydrated. A good cream to use is the Mama Earth Milky Soft Face Cream for Babies.

Burn Treatment
Even with all of these steps for skin protection, your kiddo might still get burned. Have an at-home treatment prepared so they can recover quickly from sun damage. Also, did you know tomatoes can be good for sunburns because of the lycopene inside? This soothes the skin and reverses the sun damage on your kiddo’s skin.
